GROUP THERAPY FOR
NEURODIVERGENT ADULTS

Group therapy offers something many autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD adults have never truly experienced: being understood without having to explain or justify yourself.

My groups are designed specifically for neurodivergent adults who feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and isolated AND who want support that feels regulating, affirming, and actually helpful.

Whether you’re looking for clinical group therapy or a low-demand, community-based support space, these groups are built with ND nervous systems in mind.

What Makes Neurodivergent Group Therapy Different:

Traditional group therapy often assumes a level of social energy, emotional processing speed, and verbal fluency that doesn’t work for many ND adults. Neurodivergent-affirming group therapy is different by design.

In my groups, we prioritize:

  • nervous system safety

  • low-pressure participation

  • clear structure and expectations

  • reduced social performance demands

  • validation without comparison

  • shared lived experience

You don’t have to talk the whole time, you don’t have to mask, and you don’t have to be “good at groups.”

You just have to show up as you are.

Curious if group support might be a good fit for you?

Take a look at the groups I currently offer — no pressure to decide.

Why Group Therapy Is Especially Helpful for Autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD Adults:

Many neurodivergent adults grow up feeling like they’re the only one struggling this way. Group therapy gently challenges that isolation.

Research consistently shows that group therapy can:

  • reduce shame and self-blame

  • increase emotional regulation

  • improve communication and self-understanding

  • foster connection and belonging

  • normalize lived experiences

For ND adults, group therapy often becomes the first place where things finally make sense!

The Group Therapy Experience With Me:

My approach to group therapy is neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based modalities including ACT, IFS-informed work, somatic strategies, and narrative therapy.

Groups are:

  • virtual

  • structured but flexible

  • sensory-considerate

  • paced intentionally

  • facilitated with clear boundaries and support

Each group has a defined focus, clear expectations, and a strong emphasis on emotional safety.

Clinical Group Therapy Options:

Neurodivergent Parenting Therapy Groups

These clinical therapy groups are designed for autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD parents navigating overstimulation, guilt, emotional reactivity, and burnout.

In these groups, we work on:

  • emotional regulation and nervous system awareness

  • sensory overload and capacity management

  • parenting identity and shame reduction

  • communication with partners and children

  • sustainable, ND-aligned parenting strategies

These are clinical therapy groups, meaning participants have a treatment relationship, informed consent, and appropriate documentation.

Non-Clinical Support & Psychoeducation Groups:

Cozy Gaming Parenting Support Groups

These non-therapeutic groups offer connection, validation, and gentle structure through shared cozy gaming (often in Animal Crossing).

These groups focus on:

  • community and connection

  • reducing isolation

  • shared lived experience

  • low-demand social interaction

  • nervous-system-friendly environments

They are not therapy and do not involve diagnosis or treatment. Instead, they provide a supportive space for ND parents to decompress and connect.

Is Group Therapy Right for You?

Group therapy may be a good fit if you:

  • feel isolated or misunderstood

  • want to learn from others with similar experiences

  • struggle with shame around your needs or capacity

  • want support that doesn’t rely solely on talking

  • are curious about connecting in a lower-pressure way

What You Can Expect From Group Work Over Time:

Participants often report:

  • feeling less alone

  • greater self-compassion

  • clearer understanding of their neurodivergence

  • improved emotional regulation

  • increased confidence in boundaries and needs

  • relief from the belief that they are “failing at life”

Group therapy doesn’t fix you, but it helps you realize you were never broken.
